She quickly rose to become Environmental Supervisor and then moved into the Accounts Payable/Receivable Department. After a year Linda was offered the position of Central Supply Director. For the next three years she was in charge of ordering all medical supplies, office supplies and durable medical equipment for the facility.

In 2006, Linda transferred to The Gardens Assisted Living Facility, where she was able to put her vast experience to work as a Certified Caregiver and Med Tech. Linda's duties include scheduling healthcare appointments and transportation for residents, and she is also happy to give potential residents and their families tours of the Gardens at Kingman.

At The Gardens Assisted Living Facility, we feel that dignity is treating every resident with individual value and respect. We hire and train our professional caregivers to respond to each resident's needs and preferences.

Marcela Harris

Caregiver Supervisor/Activities Coordinator

Marcela Harris

Marcela began her career with The Gardens at Kingman Assisted Living Center as a prep-cook in 1998. A short while later, a position in the housekeeping department became available and Marcela was transferred. In 1999, Marcela received her training as a certified caregiver. As she was mastering the required duties for all the different shifts, she found the time to assist the activities director in planning scheduled events. She became quite knowledgeable about the internal operations of our facility. It was a logical step for management to ask her to step into the position of Activities Coordinator upon the retirement of the previous director. In addition, Marcela had undertaken the training of all newly hired employees, and was officially named the Caregiver Supervisor.

As Activities Coordinator, Marcela schedules daily activities which may include bingo, arts/crafts, seated kickball and sit-down exercises, ice cream socials, musical entertainment and a weekly Christian Fellowship hour. The holidays are big events at The Gardens with Halloween Trick-or-Treat, Family Day Thanksgiving Dinner and a special visit from Santa where gifts are distributed to all the residents on Christmas Eve. Training of individuals joining The Gardens includes learning all state mandated regulations, proper techniques of assisting with bathing, personal grooming, monitoring of medications and correct charting procedures. As supervisor, she works alongside each new employee showing them the day to day methods and duties of their assigned shift.Marcela says she really enjoys the residents company, and that is evidenced by her caring and compassionate nature. Stop in some Tuesday afternoon, grab an ice cream cone, and listen to the karaoke group. You'll be more than welcome.
